Dalai Lama: why?

Some protested against my post on Dalai Lama. This may require an article but here is a brief summary of complaint against him: 1) we now know full well that during the Cold War he served as an arm of US foreign policy against progressive thought. 2) He has been silent regarding the pogroms against Muslims in Burma. 3) he is enamored with Hollywood celebrities. 4) he has had a love affair with Shimon Peres. 5) I can't remember the last time he took a brave position in international affairs (and don't forget his stance on gay people).
