Saudi policy in Lebanon

"At the same time, he said, the Saudis did not condition the gift on disarming Hezbollah, did not want direct confrontation with the group and aimed to contain Sunni extremists as well." The paper could have reported what most Lebanese newspapers reported about the recent meeting between the Saudi King and the Lebanese president, and the account was not denied by Sulayman, who is quick to deny.  The Saudi king in front of the Lebanese delegation asked the Lebanese president to use the Lebanese Army against Hizbullah. There were in fact the few words that he spoke during the meeting.  Groveling and prostration by Sulayman took up most of the meeting.
