I posted yesterday about the lies contained in an article in USA Today (the pinnacle of weather and sports journalism, really), by Mona Alami regarding Hasan Nasrallah's defense of his intervention in Syria. She and her March 14 expert, Nadim Shehadi (there is rarely an "expert" from Lebanon in Western media, including the Economist, who is NOT March 14) claimed that Nasrallah defends his intervention in Syria (which I disapprove of, of course) in sectarian terms. That is a blatant lie. He uses the same argument, as he did yesterday in his speech in `Ashura'. He said and I am translating verbatim: "The presence of our fighters and mujahidin on Syrian territory is, as we have announced on more than one occasion, aims at defending Lebanon, Palestine, and the Palestinian cause, and Syria". How did Ms. Alami and Mr. Shehadi read sectarianism in the sentence? Do they think when they so blatantly lie that no one would notice??
