The lack of the political will to win

From Bart in Brussels:  "As'ad, the argument saying "we could've won the war if the politicians hadn't backstabbed the army", i.e. we lost because the "political will" was not there, is exactly the argument made by Hitler and other military types after Germany lost WWI and which was adopted by the nazis, and which was their argument to abolish the (Weimar) democracy and install the fascist dictatorship. Now there's a parallel with today's US to think about..."
