The anti-`Alawite bigotry of John Kerry

I cited this statement by John Kerry yesterday: "And the irony is the Alawi themselves are a minority doing this to these other people for control, for Assad’s control." Imagine if this was said by any American politician but instead of Alawites he spoke about Jews. Can you imagine the uproar (and rightly so)?
