Ratatouille

My mother has an interesting theory:  she believes that every cuisine (of every culture) has a variation on the French dish, Ratatouille.  In the Arab world we know it as masbahat ad-darwish ("the rosary of the humble man").  Of course, every cuisine except the American cuisine, that is.  But we really can't speak of an American cuisine my respect for barbecue sauce and potato salad notwithstanding.  Oh, and the chicken McNuggets.  Now that is an American cuisine invention I respect.  With the advances of genetic science, I can see modifications being made on the chicken so that they would eventually be able to lay chicken nuggets just as they lay eggs.  And the rooster can simply (with genetic modification) spit the various sauces required.  It is a matter of time.
