It just occurred to me: of course, there are in the US supporters of the Syrian regime just as there are opponents of the Syrian regime (that was the case on the subject of Iraq, incidentally but no one in the US among Iraqis dared to speak in favor of Saddam: many in the Assyrian churches in my area of the country were pro-Saddam out of fear of religious sectarian parties and for other reasons). But the only demonstration in favor of Bashshar that took place here in the US--to my knowledge--was outside of a church in Pennsylvania. It occurred to me: those who support Bashshar among Muslim Syrians or Muslim Arabs would not dare demonstrate outside of a mosque. They probably would be rounded up. It is a fact that Arab Christians in the US enjoy more freedoms of speech than Arab Muslims. It is a fact.
