Live: Senate hearings. How Sen. Kerry is sure that Syria will be secular

I am not making this up.  This Secretary of State told Sen. Johnson (of Wisconsin) (one of the few who is asking intelligent probing questions from what I have seen) that Syria 1) has historically been secular (not mentioning that in fact secularism has been forced on Syria by the Ba`th Party; 2) he said that he is certain that Syria will remain secular because the Saudis assured him of that. Kid you not.
