Ambassador Nasif Hitti

I just saw that Ambassador Nasif Hitti (the Lebanese-born Arab League ambassador in Paris and who was just appointed the spokesperson of the Arab League) read the statement of the Arab League.  You need to know that the man, who writes in the Hariri rag, Al-Mustaqbal, was the president of the Phalanges Club (Al-Rabitah Al-Lubnaniyyah) at AUB when he was a student there in late 1960s, early 1970s.  He later earned his PhD in political science at USC.  Now I should mention, in fairness, that he says (and that is what he told me) that he transformed politically and became an Arab nationalist after his AUB Phalanges years.
