Adonis: political cowardice

All the discourse of Adonis (and many others in the Arab world) about freedom and democracy have evaporated.  While he is disgusted by anything smacking of Islamism, he has been uncritical of the Syrian regime (which has favored him in recent years).  Writing in Al-Hayat (mouthpiece of Prince Khalid bin Sultan) Adonis wishes to absolve the the killers who used chemical weapons (whoever they are) by writing poetically that the gases come out of our minds and spirits.  Try something else, Adonis, to hide your political cowardice.
