Subhi Hadidi is a Syrian dissident that I used to admire. Of course, this Syrian war exposed a lot of Syrian and Lebanese (although most Lebanese intellectuals were already exposed long before this Syrian war) for who they really are. Here is Subhi Hadidi: "Although it is still geographically limited, and has a symbolic military nature, and is unclear in its benefits and political harm, the recent operations by the Free Syrian Army in some of the villages of the Syrian coast have markedly moved some positions in the stagnant waters of the members of the Alawite sect".
