Meet a new minister in the Pakistani cabinet

From a dear Pakistani colleague:  "Here is a juicy news for your blog. Not to be attributed, please.  The newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Nawaz Sharif announced his cabinet on Friday. Included in the list of new cabinet officials is Captain Shujahat Azim whose only qualification mentioned in the Pakistani press is that he served as a "loyal" pilot of the private jet of the late Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri . Readers of this blog may not know that the Hariri family, along with the Saudi king, played an important role in persuading General Musharraf to release Mr. Sharif from prison and allow him to settle in Saudi Arabia in exile in return for his promise that he will not participate in Pakistan politics for ten years. Shujahat Azim, who has been given the portfolio of Civil Aviation, was reportedly highly recommended by Hariri junior."
