Do you see why I never EVER bought the notion that the lousy Syrian Asad regime belongs to the resistance camp? It never ever did. As Hanna Batatu used to say, the regime sometimes does thing that may be in the "national interest" but out of calculations for regime preservation. It supported resistance groups on occasions but out of protection for the regime and for its legitimacy. The regime never moved a finger to liberate the Golan. The regime thus can't be supported out of this argument because it never was a resistance regime. In fact, Hafidh Al-Asad overthrew Salah Jadid because the latter was committed to the notion of "people's war" against Israel and founded As-Sa`iqah as such, before the Asad regime turned it into the worse gang of thugs there was. The Syrian regime is now planning to determine the "place and time" of the response to Israel but only after determining the "time and place" of the response to the last Israeli attack. The regime will for sure respond to Israel by shelling Syrian villages and towns. What a disgrace. Take your defense of the Syrian regime from the standpoint of resistance to Israel and go...play in the garden.
