Revolution and Syria

A dear comrade from whom I had learned in youth "practically" about revolution sent me this comment regarding my post about a picture of Syrian religious fighters. " I wanted to “comment” on your denigration of young fighters shown in a most recent picture on the site. I could see myself among the rag tag. But this raises the question of the Chouans in France (since you brought on Robespierre) lead by the reactionary clergy. And it brings about the difference between the proletariat (as favored by Marx) and the lumpen-proletariat as favored by Bakunin. In brief, I have no problem in harshly critiquing the counter-revolution and the state in Syria but mocking fighters who in appearance and even acts resemble to the camp I was stuck with...".    I explained that he did not belong to the camp due to his ideology and for other reasons.
