It is most difficult and most painful to be an Arab leftist in the US and watch developments in the Middle East region.  Days like this, I understand why so many Arab leftist intellectuals in the US abused alcohol over the years.  I saw that early on after I arrived here and resolved to not allow this painful frustration to destroy me.  I am also fortunate that I don't like the taste of alcohol.
