Sophisticated and modern destruction

From Basim: " The development and expansion projects in Makkah have not wiped out the holy city's identity and history, said Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal yesterday. He said the government is protecting the city's heritage. “Of all the countries that have ruled Makkah, Saudi Arabia has undertaken the greatest reforms in the city. The expansion projects are conducted in a modern and sophisticated manner.”

"Saudi Arabia's Grand Mufti, Shaikh Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah Al Shaikh, the Sunni nation's highest religious authority, has permitted the demolition of Mecca’s monuments in order to expand the Two Holy Shrines. Al Shaikh was quoted in a lecture entitled “Reasons of Family Disintegration and Treatment Methods”, which was organised at Imam Turki Bin Abdullah mosque in Riyadh, that it is not just OK to demolish monuments in Mecca but it is necessary for the sake of expanding the area of the Two Holy Shrines."
