"Tensions have increased between the Nusra Front, which includes hardliners who fought in Iraq and foreign jihadists, and groups such as Farouq, which consist mainly of defectors from the regular army and security apparatus. Adding to the risk of infighting, Nusra and Farouq are outside a newly formed opposition command structure backed by the West and Arab states.
Nusra was the leading force in the rebels’ successful attack on Taftanaz airbase in northern Idlib province last week. It was unclear whether the rebels would be able to hold on to the base as it came under renewed government air attack." (thanks Samer)
