From M.: "Reading your post
today regarding Clinton's comments on Egyptians and "understanding
democracy", I was immediately reminded of the following video:
During the press conference at 5:20, the reporter states, "A State
Department official from Clinton’s entourage allowed two journalists to ask
questions. Both had accompanied Clinton from Washington. The two Egyptian
journalists allowed to ask questions were from state television, known for their
pro-military bias. TRN’s repeated attempts to ask a question were
ignored."
Clinton, whilst ignoring the reporter's question about the $1.3b given to
the Egyptian military, gleefully proclaims, "This is great evidence of a free
press, which is part of democracy!"
...Yeah.
Makes me curious about the levels of coercion involved when the media
accepts its role of vetting
and suppressing discourse..."
