The Syria of Anne Barnard

Poor Anne Barnard.  She has no background or knowledge of the Middle East, and her foreign language study in college was in Russian, so she was dispatched to Lebanon to cover Syria.  So it is rather understandable that she relies on the Hariri press office and the Qatari-Saudi-funded Syrian exile groups.  Here, she writes about a strike that no one in the Arab media really took seriously.  Look at her:  "the civil disobedience movement, though overshadowed lately by intense fighting, still has the ability to mobilize Syrians."  What is her evidence?  Well, here it gets into a sensitive area relating to the journalistic methods and techniques of Ms. Barnard and we are talking about a very professional and sophisticated operation:  "video uploaded to the Web by government opponents showed."
