In the new book by Bernard Lewis (see below), there is a blurb by Hugh Trevor-Roper who praised Lewis for, among other things, his intelligence and charm. Racism can be charming, you see. But why is Mr. Trevor-Roper blurbing anyway? This is a man who can't see a hoax even if it hit him in the face, literally. You remember that when Mr. Trevor-Roper was hired by The Times of London in 1983 to judge the authenticity of "Hitler's Diaries", he gave his opinion thus: as an expert of Nazism and Hitler, I declare those diaries to be authentic.
