Al-Mayadin

I was watching Al-Mayadin yesterday and there was an interview with an adviser of the Turkish prime minister.  So the reporter asks him: was there no better alternative for Turkey than arming the rebels?  Why not go through change through the democratic institutions?  I kid you not.  Democratic institutions? In Syria? Is she talking about the Ba`th Party?
