What Zionists don't get

"“I’ve got to believe that the lesson from the 34 days in 2006, along with 2008, which went on for weeks, is that Israel does much better with short campaigns than with long ones,” Mr. Makovsky said."  But you don't get it, Mr. Brilliant.  Israel is not running longer campaigns on purpose.  Israel always favored shorter campaigns.  It is not a matter of choice: the enemy has become far more formidable and the shorter campaigns are no more possible.  I remember growing up how easier Israeli tasks of war crimes and invasions were.  Times have changed, but not in Israel's favor.
