Ayman: The Israeli army would never ever be considered as liberators by any Palestinian. The fundamental root of this conflict in the eyes of the Palestinians is that Israel is occupying Palestinian land so by definition it cant liberate the people it oppresses. However, Hamas is not widely popular in gaza. People dislike Hamas a lot and although Hamas won free and fair elections several years ago, since coming into power it has lost support and credibility in the eyes of many people in the way it has governed Gaza."  (thanks Abdallah)
