The case of Shakir Hamoodi

Damon sent me this: "I don't know if you are aware of the case of Dr. Shakir Hamoodi and have posted about it on your blog. If not, please consider doing so. Dr. Shakir Hamoodi is an Iraqi-American who was imprisoned for three years for merely transfering money to his family in Iraq during the sanctions period. People are trying to start a campaign to get him pardoned or have his sentence commutted. I have included links to an article by Glenn Greenwald and the family's website.
