Against Salam Fayyad: Thomas Friedman will be mourning him soon

This may hurt your feelings as Westerners: I know how much you love Salam Fayyad adn how many articles you published in his praise and about how he is beloved by Palestinians.  A protest calling for the resignation of Fayyad.

PS Electronic Ali sent me this comment:  " was looking at the video you just posted of the anti-Fayyad protest earlier this morning. Something is not right about this. I have a hunch this is all being staged and instigated by Abbas gangs. First, Abbas has been loudly saying he supports the protests and that the "Palestinian Spring has begun". Second, if you listen to the slogans, they are chanting "ameel il amerikan" and "ameel al ihtilal" but ONLY against Fayyad. Do you want to tell me that Palestinians looked around for umalaa and decided that Abbas and all his gang are resistance fighters and only Fayyad is ameel? And where are the police? Normally when Palestinians protest against the PA, the Dayton police gangs are there to beat them up. And also while the economic situation is disastrous, the exclusive focus on economics and not on the occupation seems fishy. Abbas although himself a puppet correctly views Fayyad as the favored puppet of the US and Israel. Fayyad would have been long gone without the direct backing of the US and Israel (and the EU). As a puppet, Abbas cannot fire Fayyad, but I think he wants to send a message to the donors that he has the power to destabilize him. I do not buy this protest for one second. This looks like infighting among puppets. This is my reading."  Of course, Comrade Electronic is correct.  The PA normally brutally crushes any protest or demonstration but there is a large section in Fath that wishes to replace Fayyad.  Furthermore, Abu Mazan has been in conflict with Fayyad for a while: both are vying for the position of the most loyal Israeli puppet.
