Afghanistan in the 1980s

A comrade reminded me that when the communist government of Afghanistan in the 1980s would claim that there are Arab volunteers fighting with the Afghan mujahidin, it would be mocked by Western reporters and groupies of the Afghan "revolution" (it was a "revolution", right? I mean, it had Western support so it must have been a "revolution").
