Turkey today downed a Syrian jet. The credit went to the Free Syrian Army. In the "Hotels wars" in 1976 in the Lebanese civil war, PLO organizations did the fighting and dying but gave the credit to a Lebanese faction (Al-Murabitun).
PS Syrian regime did not dare fly one Syrian jet when Israel was attacking inside Syria over the last few years. Not one jet was flown. But I guess the Syrian people is a bigger threat to the Syrian regime than Israel. Makes sense.
