J. DAVID GOODMAN of the Times

J. David Goodman casually justifies the massacre of the Barri family:  "While the details remained murky, the killings appeared to stem from the pitched battles that have raged for days in Aleppo".  Imagine if someone were to write that circumstances of the executions by the Syrian regime remain murky but that they stem "from the pitched battles that have raged for days..."
