A seasoned NGO source in the Middle East sent me this:
"Humanitarian aid in Syria has been facing obstacles from both the regime and the FSA. There are numerous reports of FSA or armed opposition groups carjacking UN cars, assaulting truck drivers carrying humanitarian aid and stealing the assistance, and attacking humanitarian staff. But some were also arrested at government checkpoints and beaten up or tortured. A number of Syrian UN staff have been arrested or abducted by opposition groups asking for a ransom. Some were released upon payment of ransoms by their families others are still under arrest either by the government or kidnapped by the opposition."
