The New York Times said:  "Analysts said the Syrian police had generally not been involved in Syria’s 17-month-old conflict."  Wait.  So the Syrian police has not been involved and I will take your word for it because I really have no way of telling but why did your account omit the fact that the Free Syrian Army by its own admission killed more than 40 of the police force?
