" the leadership of Hamas, which had long enjoyed a friendly exile in Damascus and military support from Iran, began moving to Qatar and other havens and publicly expressed support for Syria’s revolutionaries." This was repeated twice in one article and it is of course not true at all. Hamas has taken a most cowardly position on Syria: it has basically remained silent. Mish`al did offer words of praise for the Syrian regime and the assassination by Israel of a key Hamas official in Damascus proves that Hamas did not move its leaders out of Syria--or not all of them for sure. Furthermore, Hamas is largely silent and is waiting to see who wins to throw support. The only one "evidence" of support was a lone vague speech by Isma`il Haniyyah in Cairo in which he declared support for "Syrians". That was it. This story came from Saudi sectarian propaganda to distinguish between Sunni and Shi`ite allies of Iran.
