Akram, Angry Arab's chief correspondent in Syria, sent me this: "After months of hesitation and confused positions, the National Coordination
Body for Democratic Change (NCB), is finally distancing itself form the Free
Syrian Army (Arabic).
Appreciating "the human and positive position of the defected soldiers who
refused to open fire against their co-citizens", a statement signed by the "NCB
Youth" denounced all forms of militarization and armament, were they under the
label of the Free Syrian Army or any other armed group, asserting that the NCB
isn't committed to any speech that adopts the FSA concepts adding that the
"Free Syrian Army will never be the Savior of the country in what seems to
be a reference to some of the decisions adopted at the end of the latest Syrian
opposition meeting that took place in Cairo few days ago.
NCB is the main opposition movement activating within Syria. Headed by Hassan Abdel Azim, NCB of about 13 political party the majority of which are leftists or Arab nationalists and one Kurdish party. It suffers from considerable blackout by the media that prefer to focus on the regime and on the external opposition represented by the Syrian National Council."
