Serving on the Golan

Service in Golan is the toughest at all in the Syrian army, regarding the harsh climate, the lousy infrastructure available for the soldiers there and the conditions of the service (leaves, etc...) The officers who serve there are among the best and the most courageous in the army... while the recruiters are among the poorer and the least advantageous ones in the Syrian society... Rich people pay money so their sons serve "at home"."
