I have argued for years now that Robert Fisk has officially and unofficially lost it. This fanatic Salafite cleric from Sidon is now a national joke. Even the Hariri political establishment has distanced itself from him and his silly antics especially after he claimed in one speech that there are gun toys that utter insults against Muhammad's wife, `A'ishah (the toy guns actually speak English and say: release the hostages--the cleric thought that "hostages" is `A'ishah--kid you not, not). In other words, no one takes this kook seriously, except Robert Fisk. And Fisk must have conducted the conversation with him through a 3rd party because neither Fisk can speak Arabic and nor the cleric can speak English. What is odd, is that Fisk in his conversation (real or imagined) managed to make the kook reasonable. By the way, the cleric admitted on New TV that the Saudi embassy contacted him and invited him for a visit.
