Another defection?

From Akram in Damascus:  "Brigadier General Mohammad Al-Miflaeh is said to be disappeared. As always in Syria, there are two different stories:

  1. General Al-Mifleh is kidnapped (Arabic)
  2. General Al-Mifleh defected and fled to Turkey (Arabic)
But who is Mohammad Al-Mifleh?
He is the commander of Aleppo branch of the Syrian Military Intelligence agency. But before that he was the commander of Hama branch of the same security agency and said he was interrogated (Arabic) and dismissed (Arabic) for his responsibility for the killing of 70 demonstrators in Hama on 3 of June, 2011. He also was of the notorious intelligence figures in Lebanon.
It is worth mentioning that General Al-Mifleh is a Sunni (i.e. not Alwaite) officer born in Mehajjeh village, Dara'a.

If the news of his defection were true, the Syrian revolution would be winning a great humanitarian figure, whose the hands are clean of blood. I'm sure the "opposition" is waiting for his "defection statement" on pins and needles".
