This story about the Sidon-based, Sunni cleric, Ahmad Al-Asir (shown above) is silly. He is regarded as a joke in Lebanon and even the Hariri movement and some Salafites are distancing themselves from him. And the story does not tell the claim he made (popular and ridiculed on Youtube) that toy guns manufactured in Iraq spew insults to `A'ishah, wife of the prophet. And this claim: "And no one is speaking out more brazenly and more frequently than Assir, who has held anti-Assad rallies that draw large crowds." No crowd of this guy had more than a 100 people. The sit-in in Sidon has tens only, and the entire city is expressing its disapproval.
