You may read Rafif's answer yourself but I was in Washington, DC when her father was ambassador in heard him make many statements in support not of Syria and not of the nation--let us not fudge the issues--but of the Asad regime and of Hafidh Al-Asad personally. I knew Rafif's brother when I was in DC and I know what working for the Asad regime entails--with or without membership in the Ba`th party.
