The West is too peaceful argument

This Lebanese fellow--who never ever prior to 2011 was known for his deep love and affection for the Syrian people (but then again, even Netanyahu now loves the Syrian people as do all the racist anti-Syrian people press in Lebanon)--complains that the West is too peaceful and has become timid before of its invasion of Iraq in 2003:  "There is no doubt that the Iraq war experience is not to be repeated. This conviction is driving policy toward Syria, but the West has learned the wrong lessons from the Iraq example. The United States military intervention in 2003 and the chaos and waves of sectarian killing that followed in Iraq haunts the West into indecision, and irreparable damage is being inflicted on Syrian society."
