minister was specifically talking about using deadly force against salafists who
are burning down property, bars etc.... This OF COURSE does not justify using
excessive force against any civilians, but he was, finally, talking about using
force not just against unionists and leftists (as in the recent past) but also
against a core constituency for Ennahda that is perceived by an important and
perhaps growing segment of tunisians as dangerous and in need of physical
restraint.
