kidnapping of `Alawites in North Lebanon

You did not read about this at all.  So the Syrian regime kidnapped a Lebanese guy presumably involved in arms smuggling to Syria, and the Lebanese "pro-Western" Hariri and Salafite gangs, went on a rampage and kidnapped various `Alawites at random to pressure the regime to release the guy.  So New TV went to Wadi Khalid to cover the release of the Lebanese and Syrian `Alawites: they all had bruises and evidence of torture on their faces (Human Rights Watch ruled that those bruises were caused by bad weather), and they all seemed scared and terrified.  When asked by the New TV correspondent about the bruises on their faces, they said: oh, no. Those are not. We were well treated.  Shame on Human Rights Watch's office in Beirut.  They are asleep at the wheel.
