Apologists of the Syrian regime posing as dissidents: the case Sami Moubayed

The chutzpah.  The hypocrisy.  Look at this piece by Sam Moubayed.  I never met the guy but he has been a mild apologist for the regime and I know that he was in negotiations with Imad Moustafa (the former Syrian ambassador in Washington, DC) to come here and serve as press attache or chief propagandist for the embassy.  I know that negotiations later broke over non-political matters.  But this person is now posing as champion of freedom?  What is next?  But then again, if `Abdul-Halim Khaddam speaks about freedom and end of corruption in Syria, what do you expect?  And this silly article about Ghassan Tuwayni? That he wrote about "freedom"?? When did Tuwayni champion freedom in Saudi Arabia or Jordan or Qatar or Bahrain or...SYRIA.  You are now falsifying history and claim that Tuwayni was a critic of the Syrian regime? Tuwayni (like many others criticized the Syrian regime after the withdrawal of its troops from Lebanon.  And then this dishonest person says:  "staunch Lebanese nationalist, allied neither to the Americans, the Iranians, the Syrians, or the Saudis."  Well, I know that you wish to ingratiate yourself with folks in March 14 of Lebanon and Syria and their GCC sponsors, but Tuwayni was in fact as Syrian nationalist, if you bothered to check the facts, and no, Tuwayni never ever wavered in his support for Kuwait and Saudi Arabia from which An-Nahar received funding, not to mention Hariri funding.  I know that you are trying to break with your former bosses and wish to recreate yourself and re--invent yourself for career purposes, but some integrity and honesty would be in order, as much as they elude you.
