The assassination of Isma'il Haydar (the son of the leader of a splinter faction of the Syrian Social National Party) in Syria yesterday is significant. The party is a legal opposition party and is accommodating of the regime, but the leader does not shy away from criticizing strongly the Syrian regime but does not call for its overthrow. They were vocal critics of the regime when others were serving the regime, although I personally don't trust all the "legal opposition" in Syria. I think that the Free Syrian Army and its affiliated gangs want to kill all leaders of the local opposition in Syria, to serve their exile sponsors.
