Elections

The Syrian rubber stamp parliament "elected" a new speaker: the election was as democratic as "the election" of Burhan Ghalyun as leader of the unelected Syrian National Council.  Ghalyun as is known, was forced out yesterday but was told to preside till they "elect" a replacement.  Upon his dismissal, Ghalyun had the temerity to maintain that reform within the Syrian National Council has stalled.  Mr. Ghalyun did not notice that till he was ousted.
