Cardoso

Look at this lousy article about Cardoso.  Nothing about Dependency theory and its influence in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.  Of course, Cardoso was honored only because he veered off his Leftist past in his later years.  Otherwise, he would warrant a mention.  "Mr. Cardoso is probably best known as co-writer of the influential 1969 book “Dependency and Development in Latin America,” which detected in the early glimmerings of globalization new opportunities for growth in countries considered to be on the periphery of world affairs. But he said the book he considered “most solid” is “Capitalism and Slavery in Southern Brazil,” an examination of how racially based servitude contributed directly to Brazil’s economic and social backwardness."
