The boring rants of Robert Fisk

Fisk has nothing to say on the Middle East whatsoever, and he often makes up for that by fabricating.  OK, look at this:  "The problem with all this is that Muslim societies – or shall we whittle this down to Middle Eastern societies? – are allowed to appear squeaky-clean in the face of such trash, and innocent of any racism themselves.  A health warning, therefore, to all Arab readers of this column: you may not like this week's rant from yours truly. Because I fear very much that the video of Alem Dechasa's recent torment in Beirut is all too typical of the treatment meted out to foreign domestic workers across the Arab world (there are 200,000 in Lebanon alone)."  He claims that this story was the only coverage of Ms. Dechasa while there has been coverage of the case on Lebanese TV stations and in As-Safir and Al-Akhbar.  I wrote a 2500 words article about the case in Al-Akhbar but Fisk does not read Arabic and thinks he is the first one to bring the case to the public.  Mr. Fisk does not know that there are activists in Lebanon who work and struggle against racism on daily bases but he is too busy schmoozing with his friend Walid Jumblat to notice.
