"Mr. Adnan was said to have been a leader of Islamic Jihad...Ms. Shalabi is also said to belong to Islamic Jihad."  Can you imagine if this method of defamatory accusation was used against Israelis?  It is said that Netanyahu is a terrorist.  But this is the staple of Isabel Kershner's reporting.  (I did not name the token Arab in the byline because he is toke and does not count for anything).
