New York Times obituaries

Do you notice the Israeli-centric focus of New York Times' obituaries.  If there is any link to Israel, it is made prominent in the obituary.  Somebody could be a great scientist, but if his plane was stopped for few hours in Israel for refueling, the headline would be: Scientist who once passed through Israel died.
