Luxury items: banned from Syria

I hate when Western governments do something and I hate when Western governments don't do anything and yet they pretend that they are doing something.  So they now have banned luxury items from reaching Syrian officials.  How dumb is that? So Rami Makhluf or any other big shot in Syria can just send his driver to Lebanon to fetch him whatever luxury item he wants.  Who are you fooling?
