I like James Gelvin's The Arab Uprising: What Everyone Needs to Know published by Oxford University Press. It is probably the best that I have seen on the increasingly popular topic. It lacks more focus on Palestine and more treatment of culture and media, but it is useful especially for introductory courses on the Middle East. But this sentence, James, puzzled me: "The Egyptian population has always enjoyed the benefits of peace with Israel..." (p. 151). What are those benefits, James?
