"I am not here to defend the US"

This is the most oft-cited sentence on Aljazeera. Even on debate shows where they invite people of different points of view, the person who is supposed to represent a point of view that is congruent with US policies, you hear this sentence: "I am not here to defend the US".  That is how popular the US is in the Arab world.
